Disgraced
singer Chris Brown is still struggling to come to terms with
assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna following their headline-grabbing
fight in February, admitting he "can't believe"
his own actions.
The fallen Kiss Kiss star has been sentenced
to five years probation and six months of hard labor after
pleading guilty to attacking Rihanna. In his first televised
interview since his arrest earlier this year, Brown confesses
to talk show host Larry King he remembers little about the
events leading up to the violent altercation, which left the
Bajan beauty battered and bruised.
The police report of the incident described
how Brown threatened to kill Rihanna after repeatedly punching,
biting and choking her as she struggled to get out of his
car following a pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles. A shocking
police photo showing the full extent of Rihanna's injuries
leaked shortly after Brown's arrest and the singer admits
he feels ashamed whenever he sees the image. Brown tells King,
"When I look at it now, it's just like, wow, I can't
- I can't believe that - that actually happened."
However, the 20 year old is fast facing
up to the consequences of his actions and is ready to begin
his community sentence: "They want me to pick up trash,
remove graffiti. I'm a hard worker. It's something I'm willing
to do... I made a mistake and it was just something that I
have to live up and own (sic)."
Brown, who has also been ordered to stay
away from his ex for five years, admits he's still in love
with Rihanna and finds it "difficult" seeing her
linked to other men: "At the end of the day, I mean,
we're not together, so, if she's happy, I'm cool."
The interview is schedule to air on Wednesday.
